PORTHLEVEN FOOD FESTIVAL

Porthleven Food Festival is a local event that has been running for years. It is a treasured event that the locals thrive on and look forward to every year. It is an opportunity for local businesses to display their work as well as people from all over to come together to enjoy the local produce.  

I was thrilled at the opportunity to be involved in this event as I had been attending since I moved to Cornwall. It was my job as well as a group of other students, from my course, to help manage the event.  
My particular role was to run the information point, which was based at a stool that was also selling merchandise. I was responsible for money management, giving clear information and helping the attendees on the day. I was on the stand from 9-5pm and it was a very useful insight to me to experience how the management team handled the volunteers.
