CITY OF LIGHTS
The City of Lights is a community ran event that is the start of the festive season in Cornwall. An employee from Mackerel Sky, Claire Eason-Basset, came to the university in first year in hope to find volunteers. From this I decided that this could be an opportunity to widen my volunteer experience.
The City of Lights is a reasonably large scale event and is ran mainly by volunteers. This particular volunteer experience enabled me to practice my problem solving skills, multi-tasking and the ability to gain composure in difficult situations. I enjoyed being a part of a large work force and felt satisfied in helping a special event like this.
Skills used and developed during this project:
- Problem solving
- Team work
- Initiative
- Multitasking
