BOOTHDRIVE
Boothdrive was my first assessed event at University. I worked in a team with two other students to create a memorable evening located in the AMATA building on campus. The evening was a film screening with an American 50’s drive-in theme.
We aimed to bring this concept in doors and have booths with stencils of famous cars from films featured on the back of the seats. The film we decided to screen due to popular demand was Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. We had to acquire a film license to show this film. This event was a great experience as we were able to plan our first professional event on a small scale.
Tasks within the team were delegated accordingly to accommodate our individual
strengths and weaknesses. I was responsible for marketing which included event branding and controlling the social media platforms. In addition to this, I designed the poster and created a brief for the graphic designer to produce. I also had to source materials for the event which, because of budgeting, meant a majority of this was homemade. For example, the car designs for the booths I had created by hand. There was 15 of these in total. This required me to be very resourceful and creative. For this event I was also the main representative when liaising with the technicians, the venue manager and volunteers for the evening. I also worked alongside fellow team member Jade Dando to create the risk assessment and budget.
Skills used and developed during this project:
- Creativity
- Multitasking
- Time management
- Organisation
- Problem Solving
